Every year, there always seems to be a new diet or exercise to try out that promises to help us achieve our dream figures or pursue a “healthier” lifestyle. It has become one of society’s constantly evolving interest, but can sometimes feel cyclical – just like fashion trends.
So before jumping into the bandwagon, having a clear understanding of what you could successfully control may be the key to your success.

The first questions we recommend asking ourselves when we’re about to take on any sort of lifestyle change are, “What do I want to achieve by doing this?” and “Can I see myself continuing with this lifestyle for the next two to three years?”
When the answer is to the first question goes beyond how you look, and an affirmative for the second one, you may be ready to take on the challenge. Your motivation and treatment towards the challenge should be strong enough to pull you through during the difficult days.
We won’t be pointing you towards any particular diet, nor will we use the word. Since each individual’s needs are unique, nutrition may not be an exemption. Depending on your objectives, there are a number of ways you could achieve them, but balance and timing will always be key.
Should you decide to significantly change your eating behavior for your metabolism, or your daily nutritional intake, it is always wise to consult a specialist first to see if it will suit you. Changes may need not be as drastic as you think.
Notice that we didn’t use “workout” or “sports”? While these are of course at the top of the list and the most common ways to keep your body in motion, even the simplest everyday activities should not be overlooked.
A conscious and regular effort to increase movement over the course of a workday (such as standing, stretching, chores, walking around more), while simple, does create wonders for the mind and body.
Regular exercise is a big plus too, but would depend on your objectives and preference. But make sure to always listen to what your body is telling you. Our physical wellness also depends on our response to load in activity, so keep yourself protected against any injury that might hamper your progress.
